Gold prices surge to record highs overnight
Sky News Business Reporter Edward Boyd explains why gold prices have been hitting record highs.
Mr Boyd said prices have been surging for the “past four weeks or so”.
“Gold prices have surged significantly due to the geopolitical situation,” he said.
“There’s a lot of conflict obviously going on in Russia, Ukraine, the Middle East.
“In times of conflict, investors go to safe havens – gold is obviously the big safe haven commodity that people buy.”
