Sky News host Peta Credlin says after two years of anxiety and disruption caused by the COVID-19 pandemic “we need a new-look country” in 2022.

“As a nation there’s no doubt we’re fed up and probably a little bit cranky, wanting to put it all behind us but not sure whether we every really will,” she said.

Ms Credlin pointed out the nation is also still facing “all the old problems” such as the climate wars and a “trillion-dollar debt bomb”.

“Yet despite all of this we know what a wonderful country we have, don’t we, and what a fine people Australians are and how much we are at our best, inventive, resourceful, inclined never to give up or settle for something we all know is far from ideal.
